Book a pitch for a home fixture or training
Reserve a club pitch from the event itself, from Facilities, or from the weekend pitch board, and sort out clashes and shared derby bookings.

How pitch bookings work
A pitch booking reserves one of your club's pitches for an event's time. It is linked to the event, so it moves when you change that event's time and is released when the event is cancelled or postponed.
Only training sessions and home fixtures can book a pitch. Away games never need one. Playlee only offers pitches that suit the team's age-group format, and it refuses a slot that clashes with another booking or a blackout.
Three ways in
- The event itself
- On the web, edit the event in Schedule and use "Pitch booking". In the app, choose a club venue in the event form and pick from "Book a pitch".
- Home → Weekend pitches
- Football clubs see every pitch's bookings for the weekend, plus "Home games with no pitch yet". A club set up as a single team sees its team home page instead.
- Facilities → Bookings
- Use New booking to create an event with its pitch request, or "Create a recurring event" to add a season of sessions with a pitch for each.
Book from the fixture

Open the home fixture or training session
On the web, the pitch picker appears when you edit an existing event. In the app, you can book while creating or editing it.

Check the start and finish times first
Availability is checked for the times in the form. Without a finish time, the web assumes 90 minutes. The app asks you to add a finish time before it can book.

Select "Find a free pitch"
Pitches that clash show as unavailable, with the reason. If your team is already booked somewhere else at that time, you will see a "Heads up" warning, but you can still choose the pitch.

Choose the pitch and save
The booking is requested when you save. It is confirmed straight away if the club has "Approve bookings automatically" on in Settings → Permissions → Facility bookings. Otherwise an admin approves it in Facilities → Bookings.
Clear the weekend board

Open Home and find Weekend pitches
From Monday to Friday it shows the coming weekend. On Saturday and Sunday it stays on the current one. Use the arrows to move between weekends.

Work through "Home games with no pitch yet"
Each row says the day and kick-off, or "Time TBC" when the kick-off is still unknown. Select "Book a pitch" to open that fixture's edit form with the pitch picker.

Finish when the board says every home game has a pitch
Cancelled and postponed fixtures, away games and archived teams' fixtures are not listed.

An internal derby exists once for each team, so both sides want the same pitch. When the second side books the same pitch for exactly the same start and finish time, Playlee shares the first booking rather than calling it a clash. You will see "Sharing the pitch booking with the other side of this fixture." If the times differ even slightly, it is a real clash, so make both fixtures match.
Check the booking
- The fixture is set to Home, or it is a training session.
- The start and finish times are right before you pick a pitch.
- The booking is approved, not only requested.
- The weekend board no longer lists the fixture.
Common questions
Why is my pitch showing as booked?
Another event or booking holds it for an overlapping time, or it is blocked by maintenance. The picker shows the reason next to the pitch. If the other booking belongs to a game that has been called off, cancel that event in Playlee to free the slot. Archiving a team also releases its future bookings.
Why is there no pitch picker on my fixture?
Pitches are only booked for training and home fixtures. Set Home / away to Home first. On the web, the picker appears when editing an event you have already created. Pitch booking is a football feature.
Why does it say no bookable pitches are set up?
None of the venue's pitches suit the team's age-group format, or no pitches have been added. Check Facilities → Facility settings, or choose the club venue in the app first.
Why did my approved booking go back to requested?
Moving a booking to a different pitch or time needs approving again, unless the club approves bookings automatically.
I changed the time for a whole training series. Did the pitches move?
No. Pitch bookings only follow edits saved for a single date. Check the bookings in Facilities after changing several dates at once.
