Match type and details confirmation are separate

League, Cup and Friendly are the saved match classifications. An imported fixture can have no saved classification and appear as Unclassified. You can choose its match type in the edit form.

Confirming imported fixture details checks the information families rely on. It does not by itself select a saved match type. Choosing League does not confirm a provisional fixture or change its kick-off, opponent or venue.

Change a fixture match type

  1. 1

    Open Schedule in your club

Find the match for the correct team and date.

  2. 2

    Open the fixture edit form

Use the Match type field; for football it offers League, Cup and Friendly.

  3. 3

    Choose the required match type

Check the selected fixture and leave its other details unchanged.

  4. 4

    Select Save changes

The selected classification is saved for that fixture.

Common questions

Can I set an imported fixture as League, Cup or Friendly?

Yes. Open its edit form in Schedule, choose Match type and save. Classifying it is separate from confirming its provisional details.

Can the support assistant do this for me?

If you have permission to edit the match, the assistant can offer to prepare this change. Confirm the exact fixture and match type in the preview before it runs.
