Before you start
- The Playlee Clubs app from the App Store or Google Play
- A UK or Ireland mobile number
On this page
How sign-in works
The app signs you in with your mobile number. We text a 6-digit code; enter it and you are in. The code lasts 10 minutes.
Your number is what links you to your club, so use the number your club has for you. If the club invited you as a coach or volunteer, signing in with that number accepts the invite automatically.
- 1
Open the app and enter your mobile number
Use a UK or Ireland mobile number. Coaches and volunteers can choose “Club coach or volunteer? Sign in with your number”.
- 2
Enter the 6-digit code we text you
Wrong number? Tap “Change number”. Code not come through? Wait a minute and tap “Resend code”.
- 3
New to Playlee? Add your name and email
If there is no account for your number yet, you will be asked for your full name and email to create one.
- 4
Prefer your email and password?
Tap “Sign in with email & password instead”.
Change your mobile number
- 1
Go to You → Edit profile
Next to Mobile number, tap Change.
- 2
Enter the new number and tap “Text me a code”
The code goes to the new number.
- 3

You will see “Mobile number updated”. Use the new number next time you sign in.
If sign-in is not working
- The app is up to date.
- You are using a mobile number, not a landline.
- It is the same number (or email) your club has for you.
- You waited a minute before asking for another code.
- You used the newest code, within 10 minutes.
Common questions
My code has not arrived.
Give it a minute, check the number shown is right, then tap “Resend code”. You can only ask for a new code once a minute, and only a few codes per number each hour and each day; if you see “Please wait a moment before requesting another code”, wait and try again later. If texts still do not arrive, try “Sign in with email & password instead”.
It says “Enter a UK or Ireland mobile number — we can only text a mobile.”
Codes can only be sent to UK or Ireland mobile numbers. Check you typed a mobile, not a landline.
It says “That code has expired” or “Too many attempts”.
Codes last 10 minutes and allow five tries. Request a new code and enter the newest one.
It says my email already has a Playlee account.
You already have an account, often from registering on the website. Sign in with that email and password instead, then add your number under You → Edit profile.
It says “This phone number is already linked to another account.”
That number already belongs to a different Playlee account, so sign in with the number itself rather than adding it. If you do not recognise that account, contact your club.
What does “This account does not have Clubs access” mean?
You are signed in, but the account is not linked to a club yet. Newer versions of the app show “No club yet” instead, with Join with a code, Find the club, Set up a team and Check again. Usually it means you signed in with a different number or email from the one your club has, or you have not registered yet. Log out and sign in with the details the club has, join with your club’s link or code, or ask the club to check. Accounts that already have a child registered are fixed automatically when you open the app.
I am a coach and my club invited me.
Sign in with the exact number the club texted. The invite is accepted as you sign in, with nothing else to tap. If you signed in with another number, log out and use the invited one.
