What you will do
A workable schedule depends on realistic pitch capacity, match timings and gaps between matches.
Before you start
- Add every pitch before you rely on the Auto Scheduler.
- Use a realistic match length and gap between matches.
- Treat unscheduled fixtures and items on the Issues tab as matchday blockers.
Where to go
- Settings > Pitches, or Format > Pitches
- Check pitch names and sizes before fixtures are placed.
- Settings > Tournament Days
- The start and finish times the scheduler works within.
- Schedule
- Place games, review conflicts, and see overflow fixtures on the Unscheduled tab.
How to do it
- 1
Confirm each day's start and finish times in Tournament Days.
- 2
Check every pitch you need exists.
- 3
On Schedule, select Auto Scheduler.
If fixtures are already placed, you will be asked Overwrite existing schedule? Only confirm with Yes, Overwrite if you want to start again.
- 4
Check the Unscheduled and Issues tabs, adjust fixtures, then select Save Changes.
If there is not enough room, the issue card offers Add pitch, Change match timing and Extend matchday hours.
- 5
Use Export CSV if you need a copy for printing or sharing.
Check you are ready
- Conflicts shows zero.
- Unscheduled shows zero, or only fixtures you have chosen to leave out.
- You selected Save Changes after moving fixtures.
If something looks wrong
If something looks wrong
If the board says there is not enough capacity, treat that as a setup problem to fix, not something to ignore.
Rebuild a category from Format
- 1
Open Format and select the category
Choose League, Knockout or Groups then knockout, with the match duration and changeover. Set the number of groups when that control is offered.
- 2
Review the rebuild confirmation
Saving creates replacement divisions, distributes existing teams across them and deletes the old divisions. It may preserve a legacy rules baseline and is refused after fixtures have been created.
- 3
Save and check Teams and Scheduling
The action preserves the existing teams while moving them into the replacement structure. It does not generate a fixture schedule, charge entry fees or notify team managers.
Restore the saved schedule
- 1
Open the current controls
Open the matchday workspace and Recover the schedule before regeneration.
- 2
Review and save
Review the latest saved recovery and choose Restore previous schedule.
- 3
Check the effect
Generated fixtures are replaced by the saved previous schedule only if native version/protected-match checks pass. A restore revision is recorded; no new generation or notification occurs.
Apply a match-day delay
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Matchday, choose the day and optional pitch, and preview the delay in minutes.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Review every affected fixture, clashes and overruns before confirming the current preview. The live schedule changes; no message is sent.
Change one fixture schedule
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Scheduling and select the named fixture. Set its start, pitch, duration, referee and locked state.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Save the patch after checking current teams and conflicts. A stale fixture revision refuses; other fixtures are retained.
Record a fixture result
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Results and select the fixture. Enter scores, optional penalties, decision method, winner and whether to finalise.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Review standings and knockout effects. Protected downstream results may require separate correction in Results; existing disciplinary bookings remain unchanged in this guided lane.
Populate a category knockout stage
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Format and the named category after group results are complete.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Use the native advance control to populate the existing ready knockout slots. This does not regenerate the bracket; unresolved group results can refuse.
Save category bracket settings
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Format, select the category, then Bracket settings. Choose advancement, pairing mode, consolation competitions and their names.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Arrange the qualifier slots and save. This saves configuration and unlocks regeneration, without generating fixtures.
Generate a category bracket
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Format, select the category and review its saved bracket configuration.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Confirm Generate only after reviewing replacement effects. Eligible old bracket fixtures can be replaced; protected results and locked state can refuse.
Unlock a category bracket
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Format and the category Bracket settings.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Use Unlock to permit later changes. Unlocking alone does not regenerate or populate fixtures.
Change tournament details
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Settings and General details. Enter the name, date, daily start, sport, competition country and venue fields.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Save after reviewing the complete replacement. Venue changes can geocode after confirmation; existing match days control effective date bounds.
Edit an existing tournament team
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Teams and the named team edit controls. Change the team details, kit, attendance and manual payment status.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Save the explicit replacement. The existing logo and custom fields remain unchanged in this guided lane; no payment is collected or refunded.
Save unpublished competition rules
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Settings and Competition rules. Set scoring, match timing, rest and the applicable football rules.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Save draft to keep the new values unpublished. If there is no published rules snapshot, the native baseline can be created first; review that disclosure.
Publish reviewed competition rules
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Settings and Competition rules, and inspect the current draft or baseline and affected categories.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Confirm the governing-body reference and review checkbox, then Publish. This creates a published version, applies rules and clears the draft; public standings can change.
Change public ticket sales
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Tickets and review the public ticket-sales switch.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Confirm the chosen enabled state. Enabling runs native Stripe readiness checks after approval; existing orders stay and no charge or refund is made.
Change one ticket-session capacity
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Tickets and session capacities. Select the named day and enter its limit, or explicitly clear it.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Review every retained day and the selected change before saving. Other current limits are retained; existing orders are not repriced.
Add a ticket type
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Tickets and Add ticket type. Enter name, description, price, named sessions, optional capacity override and active state.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Review currency and effective capacity, then save. Active types may appear publicly; saving does not collect payment or reprice old orders.
Change a ticket type
- 1
Open the existing app controls
Open Tickets and edit the named ticket type. Enter its complete replacement details and named sessions.
- 2
Review and confirm the effect
Review current currency and effective capacity before saving. Existing orders are retained and not repriced; no refund or message is sent.
