How it works
Three steps, then the invites come to you

Register and verify your mobile
Enter your mobile number and the code we text you. That is your Playlee account, with no password to remember.

Set your area
Add your home ZIP code and how far you are happy to travel. Organizers see your town and a distance band, never the ZIP code.

Accept invites in the app
When an organizer invites you, the Playlee app tells you. Read the details, message the organizer, then accept or decline.
You stay in control
Organizers see enough to invite you. Nothing more.
Your contact details are shared only with an organizer whose invite you accept. Until then, messages go through Playlee.
You can stop listing yourself at any time, from your referee account or the app.
What organizers see
- Your first name and surname initial
- Your town
- A distance band, such as within 10 miles
- Your level, state association and whether you are a registered referee
- A mobile verified tick
- An Under 18 badge, if it applies
What they never see
- Your mobile number
- Your email address
- Your ZIP code or your exact distance
Under 18?
Young referees are welcome
Before you appear in the directory, a parent or guardian confirms by email. Organizers see an Under 18 badge so they can plan for it, and your parent or guardian can withdraw consent whenever they like.
Questions referees ask
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Registering, being listed and using the Playlee app are free for referees.
- Who can find me?
- Organizers running a tournament on Playlee whose venue is within the travel distance you set. They search near their venue; nobody can browse the whole directory.
- Do I have to be a registered referee?
- No. Add your level and state association if you have them, and tick registered referee if you are. Each organizer decides who to invite.
- How do I stop being listed?
- Choose Stop listing me in your referee account, or turn the listing off in the Playlee app. You leave the directory straight away, and tournaments you have already accepted are not affected.
- I already referee at a tournament on Playlee. Do I register again?
- Register with the same mobile number and your listing joins the referee profile you already have.
