Before you start

  • To review reports: club owner, club admin or safeguarding officer access
On this page

What happens when something is reported

Anyone in a conversation can report a single message or the whole conversation from the app. The club's owners, admins and safeguarding officer get a push notification as soon as a report arrives, and review it in Moderation on the web.

A reviewer can hide the reported message, or stop the reported person sending messages at the club. Neither removes anyone from the club.

Report a message (anyone)

  1. 1

    Choose what to report

Tap Report under the message, or open the conversation's menu and choose "Report conversation".

  2. 2

    Pick a reason

Safeguarding concern, Inappropriate content, Harassment, Abuse, Spam or Other.

  3. 3

    Add details for the club

Say what happened and anything the reviewer should know.

  4. 4

    Send report

"Also mute notifications for this conversation" is ticked for you. Untick it if you still want notifications.

Review a report (owners, admins, safeguarding officer)

  1. 1

    Open Moderation on the web

"Reported conversations" lists every report. Open ones are expanded and marked "Needs review". If Moderation is not in your sidebar, look under Settings → Club tools.

  2. 2

    Read the report

You will see who reported it, who it is about, the reporter's notes, and the reported message.

  3. 3

Choose an outcome and add review notes

Set the Status (Reviewing, No action, Message hidden, Messaging restricted, Escalated or Closed). Tick "Hide reported message" or "Restrict reported user's messaging" if needed, then select Save review.

  4. 4

Lift a restriction when it is no longer needed

"Restricted members" lists everyone who currently cannot send messages. Select Lift restriction to let them message again.

Follow your safeguarding process

Follow your safeguarding process

A report in Playlee does not replace your club's safeguarding procedures. If a child may be at risk, contact your welfare officer and the relevant authorities straight away. Keep sensitive case details out of general notes and announcements.

Before closing a report

  • The outcome and your reasons are in the review notes.
  • Any harmful message is hidden.
  • Any restriction is deliberate and recorded.
  • Safeguarding concerns are escalated through your club's process.

Common questions

Who can see Moderation?

Club owners, club admins and the safeguarding officer. Coaches and team managers cannot open it.

Does the person I reported find out?

Reports go to the club's reviewers, not the person you reported. They will notice if their message is hidden or they can no longer send messages.

What does restricting someone do?

They can no longer send messages at the club until a reviewer lifts the restriction. They stay a member and keep everything else, such as events and payments.

I only want to stop the notifications. Do I need to report it?

No. Use "Mute notifications" in the conversation's menu. Muting only affects your own notifications.

Why wasn't I notified about a new report?

The push goes to club owners, admins and the safeguarding officer who use the app with notifications allowed. Check Moderation on the web regularly as well.
