Football club registration checklist for a new season
Prepare teams, family information and your review process before inviting players to register for the next football season.
On this page
Agree the season before collecting applications
- Name a registration contact and a cover person.
- Check team names and age groups against your competition requirements.
- Agree how to handle waiting lists and incomplete applications.
- Confirm which official FA and league steps the club must complete separately.
Collect information once, then review it
- Check returning players against existing records.
- Link another guardian to the existing player rather than creating a duplicate.
- Review missing information before approving an application.
- Keep private family and player information out of public team pages.
Run a small trial before inviting every family
- Review the parent view and the registrar view.
- Check any payment amounts and dates.
- Explain that a club application does not automatically complete official player registration.
- Use the linked Playlee registration guide for the exact product steps.
Close the loop with coaches and parents
Keep a short exception list for applications awaiting information, an approval or a separate league step. Give coaches an accurate squad list and tell each family what remains to be done. Review the process at the end of the intake so next season starts with fewer repeated questions.
